Every day, we are faced with multitudinal, multifarious options and choices, not all of which are by any means easy. And regretfully, our young people are the main target of those who would distort and silence the truth in order to introduce the destructive, cancerous lies of Liberalism, communism, and relative values.

When I look at the lives of the truly Godly men I know, I see how their decency and good, albeit hard choices have seen them prosper in their finances, health, marriages and families.

We see how the media and Hollywood glorify the profane. Nearly every television show and movie depicts men favoring and seeking out bad women: half drunk, damaged goods, pot smoking retreads who stink of tobacco and can’t remember how many men they’ve slept with before. Is it any wonder that Western countries are devolving into third world countries of vice, debauchery, profanity and corruption, starting right at the top of our political structures? America is following the demise of ancient Rome in lock step.

Each day, each of us personally has to make hard choices. And for our youth, subject as most of them are to Liberal school teachers and college professors, peer pressure, the media, Hollywood… what chance do they have, when so many of them have a single parent, unmarried parents, absent parents, or those who leave parenting to the very worst influences possible? We are role models and we are responsible to do the right thing, not the popular thing. Not the thing that will make the most money. Not the easy thing.

Now, more than ever, we need to withdraw to spiritual Galt’s Gulches. We need to stand up for our Christian values, instead of cowering behind the “loving , forgiving, turning the other cheek, not offending”, weak and gutless, politically correct pseudo Christians who would die before truly emulating Christ.

James Russell Lowell:

Once to every man and nation, comes the moment to decide,

In the strife of truth with falsehood, for the good or evil side;

Some great cause, some great decision, offering each the bloom or blight,

And the choice goes by forever, ’twixt that darkness and that light.

Then to side with truth is noble, when we share her wretched crust,

Ere her cause bring fame and profit, and ’tis prosperous to be just;

Then it is the brave man chooses while the coward stands aside,

Till the multitude make virtue of the faith they had denied.

By the light of burning martyrs, Christ, Thy bleeding feet we track,

Toiling up new Calv’ries ever with the cross that turns not back;

New occasions teach new duties, time makes ancient good uncouth,

They must upward still and onward, who would keep abreast of truth.

Though the cause of evil prosper, yet the truth alone is strong;

Though her portion be the scaffold, and upon the throne be wrong;

Yet that scaffold sways the future, and behind the dim unknown,

Standeth God within the shadow, keeping watch above His own.

In this outstanding talk, Ravi Zacharias articulates my point far better than I do. The picture I took above demonstrates to me how fragile and temporary this life is. Every choice we make affects many others. Every choice brings consequences. Let’s make the Word of God our compass.
