When I saw this tree with it’s drooping branches in the forest the other day, I thought, “That tree sure looks like it’s feeling DOWN.” Well, there’s a common element that can, in fact, be changed. Want to know what it is?
In my experience, apart from being clinically depressed, or suffering loss or grief or illness, or circumstances completely beyond your control, the principle cause of feeling down is a lack of hope. Like you’ve tried everything you can think of to make your business or relationship work or to lose weight or whatever, and nothing has worked so far, so you’re feeling bad about it. Giving up hope that you can change things.
When it comes to relationships, there comes a time to walk away. But that’s because you can’t control the choices of others. I want to talk about things that you can control. Like losing weight or making your business work or making money. Hope is based on what you can accomplish, and that is based on what you can do.
I realize that people who join my business all come in with “high hopes, high in the sky apple pie hopes.” And great expectations. I know they have chosen the right vehicle and that the system works and makes serious money. I’ve seen it working very well for a few people who are really not the sharpest knives in the drawer, people with profoundly few contacts and others with very little money, and those whose communication skills suck. Yet, they make good money in this business. And it doesn’t take a long time. So there’s no excuse not to.
In some businesses, no matter how hard you work or how hard you try, the business model is so flawed that your chances of making money are akin to buying a lottery ticket. Not with mine.
So when that is out of the way, it comes down to choices. And that means effective action. Effective action is not stopping strangers in the street and asking them, “do you want to make a lot of money?” Especially when you don’t shave, dress like a hobo, and your breath stinks. I’m talking about taking massive, consistent, regular, and effective action. When you’re busy working very hard every chance you get, doing the right thing, when you’re disciplining yourself and not making excuses, you will have hope and positive expectations, especially if you’re in regular contact with your mentor, and you will feel great.
Feeling down leads into a downward spiral. When you feeling down, you are losing hope, feeling sorry for yourself, making excuses, and feeling like a victim. And no positive, ambitious person is going to want to have anything to do with you. So you’ll feel even more down.
Like losing weight – if you’re wobbling around with a supersized coke in one hand and candy in the other and you avoid exercise like the plague, nobody feels sorry for you and nobody believes you’re even trying, because you’re not. So you feel down and eat more and get more obese and enjoy all the physical ailments that accompany obesity. And your loved ones suffer the consequences with you.
Here’s the bottom line: If you want to stop feeling down and start feeling great instead, you need hope, and you’re going to have to create it yourself. And then you will enjoy the upward spiral – the stairway to heaven – better and better and happier and happier as you get to help others, too. You’re not a victim. It’s your fault. You created your financial circumstances and you can create new ones.
And if you didn’t create your financial pain, you can still break free into the sunshine with the right system and hard, focused, effective and persistent work. I’ll help you, but I can’t want it for you more than you want it for yourself. I can’t do it for you. There IS hope. And you control that hope, if you want to badly enough. Let’s get you UP.
